THAT'S RIIIIIIIIIGGGHHHTTTT!!!!! Successfully installed! This time I got through every manual step without any errors (proving that the first printer was in fact DEFECTIVE!!), until the last step - the installation of the software. Maybe I had too many applications open, but after 3 times of the installation process it worked!!! I am so excited that I have a working printer, scanner, and copy machine. I thank all of you haters posting comments along the lines of "user error" for your continued support! I accept your apologies! ;)
