Linkin Park RULEZ!!!!!!!

Whaddup?! I hope everyone had a great weekend, mine was A-W-E-S-O-M-E!! Since the start of our relationship Neal and I have introduced each other to our own likes of music. Unfortunately, I like more main stream artists than he does. I say "unfortunately" because that just means that the concerts I could take him to are always bigger venue's and more expensive. Thus, Neal has taken me to a few concerts at the House of Blues venues and a small one in Hollywood. All of which I enjoyed...some more than others - ha ha! Well, I came across a ticketmaster alert telling me about Projekt Revolution (http://linkinpark.com/projektrevolution) featuring and hosted by none other than my favorite 'band' - LINKIN PARK! I have been wanting to see them live since I fell in love with their first album! They played yesterday at the Irvine Meadows/Verizon Wireless Amphitheater for what was one of THE best shows I have ever seen! As it turned out, by the time I found out they were in town the only seats left for purchase were the lawn seats - my first and last time experiencing these! Aside from getting beer spilled on and having a chunky gangsta plop his ass next to me smoking a cigarette every 10 minutes, we managed to get as close as we could. There were some great bands that I was introduced to on this tour such as Hawthorne Heights (remind me a little of AFI), 10 years (I was REALLY feelin' their sounds), and Atreyu (my cuz Krystal LOVES them!). BUT, there were some not so good bands that I had to wait through and deal with (while getting beer spilled on me from the slope of the lawn) to finally get to Linkin Park.

The biggest disappointment was that the only other artist on the tour that I really knew and was looking forward to, Mr. Busta Rhymes himself, was removed from the tour recently. None of the ticket websites, nor the Projekt Revolution website had this information. :( You can imagine how I felt when the time came, according to the program (yep, those weren't updated either), for Busta to perform and the dumb smoking gangsta says to a group behind me that he was taken off the tour. Only me!!!! Busta is the best performer I have ever seen live, so when I found out that he was on this tour with Linkin Park I couldn't resist! What a combo! LP and Kanye come real close to Busta and complete my top 3. So, I suffered that disappointment and awaited LP to hit the stage. When they did, I not only got the adrenaline running through my veins that I do when I hear their songs on my i-pod, I was hypnotized by their live performance and screamed at the top of my lungs right along with Chester! It was amazing! They did a great job choosing songs that were top hits, however there isn't one song of theirs that I don't know or don't like so I knew I would be satisfied.

The purpose of this tour is to support 'Music For Relief.' $1 for every ticket sold goes to MFR, which partners with organizations such as American Forest, Habitat for Humanity, and Direct Relief International to aid victims of natural disasters and reduce global warming. And LP has committed to running the majority of their tour bus and truck fleets on bio-diesel. Hat's off to LP for setting the standard and taking the condition of our precious earth seriously!!

Ahhh, music is the food for my soul.......I have many music loving sides other than my beloved hip-hop - even though I 'look' ghetto, right pops??!! A man slangin' his cd at the OC Fair told me I "look like I like Hip-Hop." My pops laughed and said he could see the ghetto deep down. I said it must be the highlights in my hair!! It's all good, I like a lot of styles of music....my mama raised me right!

Rock on LP!!!!!! YYYYYEEEEEEEEEEEEEEEAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHH ;)
